Windows Mobile disconnected from ActiveSync
I sometimes find that certain newly acquired Windows Mobile devices (in my case AT&T Tilt or HTC TyTN II) would have difficulty to connect to ActiveSync 4.5 in Windows XP. It will happen after the device briefly connected to ActiveSync. If you try to click “Explore in the ActiveSync menu, ActiveSync will freeze indefinitely and the USB connection will disconnected.
My initial assumption would be hardware problem specifically the mini USB. But my thought is wrong!
From my troubleshooting, it is not hardware-related problem.
It is due to wrong default setting here:
Settings>Connections>USB To PC
The right setting should be “untick” Enable advanced network functionality.
It will solve your problem.
